 Live-in Care in Essex with Able began in the 1980s with an elderly gentleman in East Bergholt. Our client in his eighties who had never married and was then finding life difficult without domestic support wanted a little help with personal care and he, not able to venture far without help, was lonely. We cared for this gentleman for over ten years without a break in service.

Our services cover all of Essex including Colchester, Braintree,  Saffron Walden and it’s seaside towns such as Clacton and the ferry port of Harwich. In all these towns and villages, we can provide our Live-in Care Service to people who wish to stay in their own home rather than moving into a residential care setting.

Not only do we care for people in Essex we have live-in carers whose home is also in the County. One of our carers is Brenda:

• Brenda joined Able Community care as a Live-in Carer in 2000.
• Before that, she had been a nurse but wanted a change of career.
• Since that time Brenda has cared for many of our clients, returning to them, at their request and becoming part of a regular, rotational series of carers.

Part of Brenda’s working role is not only to cook fresh meals for our clients but to shop for their grocery items of choice. For many years and for many clients the famous jam-making company of Wilkins and Sons will be one of the names on their shopping lists.

Our Carer Services.

In addition to providing our Live-in Care services around the County, we are also able to provide Home from Hospital Care, Respite Care and Holiday Companion Care where our carers accompany Essex people who need care support on holidays of their choice.
