How does Live-in Care work?

The Able Community Care Live-in Care Service operates on a fortnightly* rotational system of introducing trained carers into a person’s home, to support them with personal care, domestic care and to offer companionship and security.

The Able Community Care Respite Care Service supports family members who need a break from caring by offering a Live-in Carer to stay in their home to care for their relative whilst they take a break.

The Able Community Care Home from Hospital Service offers convalescent care in a person’s own home supporting them after a hospital discharge to regain independence safely and in the place they are happiest.

The Able Community Care Holiday Care Companion Service enables people of all ages who need care support to have a holiday or visit relatives both in the UK and abroad.

Live-in Care Manager.

For each service we provide, each client will have a named Care Manager.

Your Care Manager will listen to you, seek information about the care you are looking for and will endeavour to provide you with the appropriate Carer to fulfil your personal specifications.

All potential clients will fill in an application form which can be downloaded from this website (or we are happy to send one in the post to you).

Upon receipt of this form we will contact you again with reference to our ambition to provide you with the care service you have requested.

Once a service has been potentially agreed our Terms and Conditions will be sent to you for signature.

For each Carer we introduce you will receive written documentation (Advice Note) confirming the booking, dates and agreed wage. Each Advice Note will have a photograph of the Carer included so that you can be sure of the carer being sent to your home. It is our objective to provide Live-in Carers whom our clients are happy to have in their home.

If you are not happy with a Carer, then that Carer will not be asked to care for you again – you can also ask for them to be replaced immediately.

We are contactable twenty-four hours a day. We operate our own ‘On Call’ rota and do not sub contract this service out.

*Most of our care support periods are of a fortnightly duration.

For very rural locations, The Channel Islands and for Respite/ Home from Hospital/ Holiday Companion Care, Carer bookings are from one week to four weeks.
