Live-in Care in Durham

Able Community Care has been providing Live-in Care Services throughout the UK for nearly four decades. To date we have provided between 70 and 75 million hours of care (2019) Our service enables older and disabled people to live in their home of choice, their own.

In the County of Durham, we are able to provide 24/7 carers in city, urban and rural areas.

Providing social care is part of our care support and should our clients want regular days out, to visit places they used to enjoy, afternoon tea at a garden centre or just to visit relatives and friends the opportunities are available. Durham City can be traced back to AD 995 and a visit to the cathedral is a peaceful way to spend a little time with a carer, in its splendid interior.

The author Bill Bryson called Durham ‘a perfect little city’ and in 2009 he was granted Freedom of the City.

The County of Durham is the 19th County in size and part of the North East range of Counties. Part of our Carers role is to prepare food for our clients, and they may well need to get to know, if they are not local carers, how to prepare famous North East dishes such as:  Tyneside Floddies, Newcastle Pudding and Singin Hinnies.

Personal care support is an inherent part of our care workers role and they all complete appropriate training which is updated on a regular basis.

In addition to providing our Live-in Care Services around the County we are also able to provide Home from Hospital Care, Respite Care and accompany Durham people who need care on holidays of their choice.
