When Older People and People with a Disability need Care cannot live life without support and have high care needs, the world can be an anxious place and seem very small and lonely. The First Choice.

For many years it was "the norm" for an older person who needed a significant level of care to have been encouraged to either move into a care home or try to remain in their own home with carers visiting just a few hours each day. Care home costs from the Scottish Government in 2020-2021 advise that the weekly cost of a care home place ranges between £574 and £1,600 per week.

The Second Choice.

Your 2nd choice is to have Live-in Carer Support, where a professional carer will move into your home and provide domestic support, personal care assistance and provide companionship.

A Live-in Care Package from Able Community Care ranges from £850-£950 per week.
