Asking an older person if, should they need care support, whether they would like it to be offered in a residential care setting or in their own home, usually the answer is ‘in my own home’. For older people with high dependency care needs, this can mean that they need to have that support available over a 24-hour period. Care providers offering 24-hour care support fall broadly into two categories of supply: Each hour charged out at an hourly rate*
Live-in care which is costed over a week’s care support.
