In addition people with MS can contact The South Wales Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre which offers Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment (also referred to as High Dosage Oxygen Treatment) and has a thriving physiotherapy department. The Centre is located in Swansea and you can contact them via their website at: or by telephone to 01792 701342.

The MS organizations in Wales offer support, information and social activities where people can meet and make new friends. Many social activities such as outings, quiz nights, lunches, drop in centres are all part of the support as are relaxation therapies and financial assistance. The support offered may differ in each branch with reference to social activities but the welfare and information available is excellent throughout.

Many people who suffer with the symptoms of MS reach the situation where they feel that the amount of care that they require to live as independent a life as possible means that they will have to consider moving into residential accommodation. However, this is not necessarily so. Able Community Care, a nationwide provider of live-in care schemes, provides long term, live-in care packages to many people with MS enabling them to remain living in their own home and in their community.

The following feedback is from our clients with MS to whom Able Community Care provides a live-in care service:

  • "Good communication. Very good carers."
  • "I like the consistency and dependability that someone is always available as a carer when needed."
  • "Very pleased with all services given. Carers are very supportive with my needs."
